Enchanting Items with Latent Effects

Some weapons have inherent traits that show up in the item's description, such as the enhanced dwarven crossbow, or some modded items, like Skyrim Redone's Yari, etc. As you might know, these aren't enchantments, so you can enchant these weapons normally, but the enchantment you place on them will not show up in the description, and you can't see what your enchantment's potency is while enchanting.

Does anyone think they can create a mod that offers some sort of workaround to this problem? I'm not specific as to the how, I just want to be able to see what it is I'm enchanting.

Thanks!

I thought about this same thing recently. I do have one idea on the top of my head.

When you have a weapon you've applied a poison to, this weapon will have this icon on it's stats that show a snake around an arrow. What if you could add icons to these weapons you said, that would symbolize their non-enchanted effect? So for the ehanced crossbows, an icon of a piece of armor being penetrated by an arrow or bolt. For silver weapons, an icon of a ghost or something with a plus sign, which means extra damage to undead. And though they are always mod items, items like backpacks and the popular bandoliers, don't let you carry more items through magic, they are items for storage. So they should if possible have an appropriate icon as well, though that sounds hard to do.

That's an idea, anyway.

This is rather easy, just a lot of editing.

The description is actually written into the ITEM's description in the CK. So removing the description wouldn't change the item, but would stop the overriding description from interfering. The downfall being you would not see the original enchantment description at all. (not before nor after enchanting, just the enchanted symbol would show)
