master777shadow
The problem has been solved. There was the same problem as before, a texture folder IN the texture folder. I have made the rearrangements and the race looks great. Thanks for the help
chaospearl
I bet I can tell you exactly what happened. The instructions for the mods say to extract the files they contain into your Oblivion Data folder. I'm betting that what you did was extract each folder individually into that same folder within the Oblivion Data. As in, you open the archive and it has an ESP file, a Textures folder, and a Meshes folder. You extracted the ESP into Oblivion Data, the Textures folder into Oblivion Data Textures, and the Meshes folder into Oblivion Data Meshes. Problem is, you need to combine the contents of those Textures and Meshes folders with the existing ones, not drag them into the Oblivion folders with the corresponding names. You take the contents of the Textures folder from the archive and put it into the Textures folder in your Oblivion directory. Not the same thing as taking the whole folder and dropping it in. Otherwise you get what you had -- a Textures folder that has another whole Textures folder in it. And then the game can't find the files it's looking for, so they display as black or magenta or other weird things. I may not be explaining it decently, heh. From now on, though, when you open the mod archive? Just take every file and folder in there and stick them all directly into Oblivion Data. Don't worry about the sub-folders. Just dump the whole contents of the mod into Oblivion Data. Usually mods come with the folders all arranged for you in the right places so that all you need to do is extract the mod directly to the Data folder and everything will sort itself out where it needs to be.
