flasbang73
For some reason every mod that I add that gives an item to a shop owner to sell seems to make that NPC disappear, and i have to spawn them using the console. Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone know a fix for it?
yeldarb
Playing with your load order may fix this problem.BOSS (TESNexus php?id 20516-be sure to download the latest BOSSlog while you are there!) is the best tool available to sort out a load order issue. Try using the Unofficial Oblivion Patches on your game. You may have a badly made mod that causes the problem. I use the conflict detectors in Oblivion Mod Manager to troubleshoot my game, but there are other programs available like TES4edit available<--I am not sure about the spelling. I also already have the Unofficial Oblivion Patch (technically Shivering Isles).
yeldarb
There is an Unofficial Oblivion Patch for every DLC, and two for the Thieves Den. There is also a patch for the UOP itself. Post your load order and somone may recognise the mod that is giving you problems.I had this problem because of a load order conflict, but Frostcrag Spire can cause this in certain shops until the UOP for it is installed. Go thruogh the comments on mods that you have that add items to vendors or alter the way the merchantile system is handled by the game if patches do not fix this issue. It is difficult to keep all your mods up to date for Oblivion, especially if you have downloads from multiple websites.
