Obse crashes on startup

Recommended Posts

OBSE does not delete files. It is a script extender and does not do anything to the mod files. It allows them to do things the game makes didn't think could be done - so if a mod requires OBSE, OBSE must be installed. But OBSE doesn't do anything to the mods, the mods use OBSE.

However, if you use OBMM and delete an OMOD installed file it will go away (You just told it to). However, just disabling an OMOD just removed that mod from the data folder while keeping it in the OBMM OMODS folder ready to be enabled again. Always keep the original zipped file you downloaded for backup.

Looking at your last post it looks like you tried to install OBSE before installing the second disk of the GOTY. OBSE will not install before you install the latest patch which is on the second disk.

Install The second disk of the GOTY first, Then install OBSE

...took my post. Check your OBSE install OP. Make sure you have the two (non-Steam) DLLs and the obse_loader.exe files in the Oblivion folder. The GOTY edition is not patched to the latest version until disc two has been installed.
