Ziloquin
I'm new to modding oblivion and cannot for the life of me work it out. I'm using 'Oblivion Mod Manager' but its still confusing for me. so I have a request for anyone who is willing to help, and that is, could someone take up the task of helping me mod my Oblivion or share the compatible mod files that i am after. or if it is easier the omods for the 'Oblivion Mod Manager' that i can put directly into it. ( may also need help with that, sorry) The list of mods I am after are: Better cities- all citiesImpeREAL cityClocks of CyrodiilQuarls texture packCustom race fixRens beauty packRoberts male and female bodiesCrowded citiesCrowded roadsLet the people drinkHigh imperialsNightmarish oblivion gate soundsRoads of CyrodiilElven Map- Cyrodiil and Shivering IslesNature of the beastArmoryLabOblivion grass overhaulOscuro's Oblivion overhaulBattlehorn castle enhancedUnique landscapes- fullTamriel travellersTravellers beltShadowcrest VineyardElven weaponry + patchBank of CyrodiilElaborate eyesIllumination withinApachii wigsImmersive weaponsOBGE + OBGE Liquid waterEnhanced cameraUltimate 1st person cameraReneers guard overhaulCapes and cloaksCOBLImmersive interiorsKvatch rebuiltBook jacketsAlluring potionsAlternative startMidas magicUnofficial Oblivion patchDarNified UIAll natural- weatherA tweaked ENBBeaming sunglaredeadly reflexesOblivion duel wieldingCreature diversityLoading screen replacer So the majority of these mods, if not all, are cosmetic. If you know of any other compatible cosmetic mods that you could add to this list then feel free. Im also looking for player homes and weapon/armour mods and anything you would highly recommend to try! If this is possible for someone to do that would be greatly appreciated and if you could leave me a message of some kind letting me know that would be great :)I also realize that most of these mods also need other mods that work beside them but I'm not much help when it comes to that. Thank you to anyone who can help me out. I'm just trying to enrich the game of my childhood as we all know it can rival games today :P Oh! also I'm running my game on steam. not sure if that alters anything but I've heard it doesn't. So, again, thank you to anyone offering to help out. feel free to query or bring up statements.
bben46
You are going to need LOOT at a minimum to help you with getting the load order organized.Get it here: http://loot.github.io/ This is NOT a mod and does not install like a mod - so, read the install instructions. beldaran1224
Um ok. ImpeREAL City is included in Better Cities already. The Custom Race Fix is covered in the Unofficial Patch. With that mod list, you'll need Wrye Bash as well as LOOT or BOSS. I prefer BOSS. I would suggest you google "installing oblivion mods" and the like. There are dozens of guides and tutorials on the subject that are better than me :) I would also recommend carefully reading the readmes of each mod as they have alot of great info on which mods are and are not compatible, as well as how to best install that mod. Several of the mods in your list have exceptional readmes. Some misc tips: you will need OBSE for many of these mods and it can be tricky to install with Steam. Also, Ren's Beauty pack is not compatible with Elaborate Eyes - Oblivion only allows one eye mesh to be in use and those mods use two different meshes. This will result in visual problems. As for more mods...Immersive Weapons includes a ton of items, so its hard for me to say what might not be included. OOO also adds new items. Item mods and player homes are very abundant and very individual. I siluggest doing some browsing on Nexus. Also, if you have Shivering Isles and/or any DLC, pick up those unofficial patches, and consider SM Plugin Refurbish. If you have any specific questions let me know!!! beldaran1224
Some add'l thoughts: Oblivion Character v2 is an amazing mod but IS NOT compatible with most other hair/eye mods without tweaking. I'm not sure, but I think many people have problems getting OBGE to play nice with ENB. For the UI, I would recommend ditching Elven Map for Dynamic Map - you can select Elven map and have some add'l functionality. I would also recommend Map Marker Overhaul. A nice simple, yet functional, hotkey mod is Hotkey Pro by Maskar. Bank of Cyrodiil is, I think, included in Better Cities or maybe requires a patch, check the BC readme. Also, Illumination Within rings a bell for me - I think it might be buggy. Animated Window Lighting System is, I believe, preferred. There are a few OBSE plugins you'll need to pick up, the readmes should let you know which. Off the top of my head, NifSE, Pluggy, MenuQue. You'll need a number of patches if you install Unique Landscapes...there is a compilation on the Nexus but it is not exhaustive. Depending on your specs, I would recommend Qarl Texture Pack Redimized - the textures are optimized and easier on your GPU. Unless you have a spectacular CPU, you should rethink running both Tamriel Travellers and Crowded Roads - Oblivion does not utilize multiple cores very well and mods that add NPCs can be very stressful. For performance and optimization, consider Stremline and Oblivion Stutter Remover, but be aware that they require the use of inis to be most effective. Since you're new to modding, you may wamt to skip them. There's a pretty steep learning curve to modding...you may want to consider starting small with the unofficial patches and a house mod or two.
