3ds max weapon scaling

Greetings

I was trying to insert a custom model as a two-handed axe into the game.

All in all that worked quite well (keeping in mind that I had not too much of clue what I was doing),

but the positioning isn' t correct and that thing is about twice as large as it should be. (see pic (I was trying to make a Batleth))

When I go back to 3Ds max, correct the coordinates and scaling and export the model again everything seems to work to.

But when I go back to the game to test the new settings nothing has changed.

There is just one set of files in the override folder.

How do I control the scale of the object in game?

Thanks for your help

Heyas Toloc-

K, keep in mind that I dont know anything about doing stuff in 3d programs. So I cant say for sure if its got to do with the export or not.

But.... I do know that the way the game engine runs, it will not apply changes to most existing models that are already spawned. So if you're not adding a NEW weapon to the game your new changes will Not be applied to the old weapon. You would need to spawn a new weapon in order for the changes to go into effect on the weapon.

I know that when dealing with stat mods to gear, you can sell it to a vendor and then buy it back, and the stats will then be changed. I do Not know if this would apply to settings such as scale, coordinates and animations tho.

Also, just to possibly make things easier for you.... now that you've got the item in the game, you can use a simple, easy to use, low-powered program called DAtool, to rescale the item if thats all that needs to be done. http://social.bioware.com/project/41/

Now, in order for it to read this on a custom item, you'll need to put ALL the necessary files for the item into the SAME folder that the datool.exe is located in. AND for some reason or another it has a popup that says the program is too old, update it. There's no update. Just close the popup and go about doing what you need to do.

If you need any instructions for how to do the resampling- http://www.dragonagenexus.com/articles/article.php?id=41

DAtool is also cool because it can extract the mesh and texture files for existing items in the vanilla game.

Hope that this helps, and that its not an issue with the export :)
