Fallout 3 Crashes: Causes and Solutions

Are you too having crashing problem with the unstable, imperfect, master piece that is Fallout 3? I have been having these annoying interruptions for almost 2 years and have still not found a "Fix" for the problem. The problem can exist on any system, Xbox 360, PStriple, PC; It is everywhere! Bethesda Softworks hasn't fixed the crashing for any system as of yet, and people are fed up! But the reason of the forum post is to share problems and solutions for crashing in hopes to find the "Perfect Fix" A.K.A - No crashes, No freezing, No corrupt saves, NO PROBLEM!

 

When i first started playing this game I liked it so much that the constant crashes didn't bother me ( Plus i thought it was just because of the fact that it was a Torrent [ This means i was using .iso files and mounting them as virtual disc's in a virtual drive] :thumbsup: ). But later i realized that this problem existed with many other Fallout players using DVDs and running the game off Steam. This was my first tic off my list for the cause of the problem in my huge process of elimination campaign in the search for the problems source. Them I discovered one of the many three to five hour no crashing fixes that exist on the net. Your free to use this solution, Simply run your Fallout 3.exe file as admin and set it in compatibility mode for Windows 2000 via the properties menu. This worked GREAT for a while until i got into modding. I could play for about 4 hours with out crashing. Once I started using FOMM and FOSE my problems soon returned. I don't know why this caused my fallout to crash as it used to but I cant play the game anymore without using "Enclave Commander 0.9" ( Kudos to the creator! :happy: ) This is where i sit in my problems. It is July 2010 and I'm still having problems after all my google, forum, and mod, searching. This is where you come in forum! If anyone out there has a PC that can run Fallout 3 and/or Oblivion perfectly without any crashing, freezing or corrupt data problems PLEASE POST SPECS! we need your help! CPU: AMD Sempron 3500 1.8GHz 512KB L2 Cache

Graphic Card: Nvidia 8500GT 512MB 128bit 12.8GB/sec mem bandwith

Sound Card: N/A

Mother Board: ALiveNF7G-HDready (Closest i could find, mine is a bit diffrent)

OS: Windows Vista 32bit SP2 Fully Updated Via Windows Update

Fallout 3 Version and DLC: 1.7.0.3 all DLC xlive.exe blocked DLC in Data running in compatibility mode for Windows 2000
