Th1ef
I have the steam version of Fallout 3, no DLC's. My Install location (Fallout3.exe) is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout 3 I have installed all of the mods I want and modified their load order with FOMM. I placed FO3Edit.exe and it's associated .dat file in the same folder mentioned above, with Fallout3.exe. I load FO3Edit, the Master/Plugin Selection windows comes up with my mods checked, I click OK, and my mods are loaded. I get the "[00:05] Background Loader: finished" message telling me that the mods were all loaded correctly. The next step is supposed to be to right click in the left panel and Create Merged Patch, and that is where my problem is. Right clicking in the left panel does nothing, gives me no context menu popup. I tried right clicking on the categories in the left panel, expanding their values and trying to right click them, and trying to right click in the open space in the left panel, nothing works. Also, I know my right click works, heh. I can right click in the right side panel and get a context menu, but it doesn't have the Create Merged Patch option. I took a screenshot to show the left side (FormID) panel I am trying to right click all over, can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/8168/fo3editproblem.th.jpg
Fraktyl
Take a look at your screen shot again. It can't find eve.esp so it errors out. You don't have all the requirement for the EVE mod. Also, since you are running Vista or Win 7. Either move Fallout 3 out of the Program Files directory, or run FO3edit as admin or you won't be able to save the file even after the other errors are taken care of. Th1ef
Thanks alot Frak, can't believe I missed that. Couldn't figure out what the problem was with that mod (even after removing/reinstalling) so I just got rid of it and everything works fine. Had one more question though, will GFWL (Games for Windows Live) work with a modded Fallout 3? I know some people would rather remove it from the vanilla game, but I rather like it tracking my achievements. Thanks for the help.
Fraktyl
Yes, GFWL will work with "MOST" addons. If you install FOSE then you break GFWL. Some of the bigger addons require FOSE so be careful which ones you choose. Also, be aware the GFWL makes FO:3 a lot buggier than it should be. Many crashes have been tracked down to Achievements and GFWL.
Th1ef
Fair enough. A few of the mods I was more interested in seem to use FOSE, so I think I will just go without the achievements for now (and now that I think about it, I was crashing relatvely often before without mods, let's see if having it disabled helps). Thanks again
