nkrt
It's not really about a mod but I'd like to know if it was possible to slow down dialogues display in the normal game, a friend of mine would like to play the game but his english is not very good and he doesn't have the time to read everything when talking to NPCs. Thanks !
GODSBANE123456
You can use this mod, which is located here:http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16622 I believe that it adds 8 seconds to each dialogue time, but i have never used it so i am not positive

It doesn't effect anything that already has a voice file associated with it. Unfortunately, I don't know of any mods that do something like that though. Ranokoa
To slow the dialogue of every single voice file for the game is not only a giant undertaking of time consuming processes, but it would really be a very large file to increase. The process would include adding silent MP3 data to the end or beginning of every single voice file there is for Vanilla. Not only ensuring that everything is named properly and located in the correct files, it would mean that you would have to reattach and find every single file for every single line of every single person in the entire game that ever says anything at all ever. A must simpler thing to do that requires sooooooo little time in comparison (but still many hours) is to go through every spoken line for everyone and rather than replace the voice files, simply replace the subtitles. Translate them into whatever language is the first for your friend so they can hear what the person is saying in English and read it in their language, it would not only take a loooooot less time but they would never really run into any words or phrases that they do not understand. It might actually help them learn the language because they would be able to understand that this part in their language is said how it's said. This wouldn't be a very difficult undertaking at all, it would just take a lot of time is all. If you do not know how to do this already just take a very very small tutorial about making NPCS use dialogue. You don't even really have to do everything that is involved in the tutorial that you can find in the elder scrolls wiki thing, link below. All you have to do is learn how to enter conversations and edit dialogue. It's very simple. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Category:Editing_Dialogue There would be no external files, no putting things in its proper place otherwise it wouldn't work, nothing like that. Quick, simple, and easy. Load Oblivion in the CSGo to Conversations that can be found through the dialogue option on any NPC or through quests tab, like Topics, find everything and take a hell of a lot of time to read every line that is there and just rewrite it in your language. Save it as an ESP and the friend simply loads the ESP. There is nothing else, and the file size in total might read a megabyte, maybe, if it would be more I'd be very surprised. Where as adding 8 seconds of silent MP3 to every file would make the size enormous. Not just because that 8 seconds adds up for every line, but because you actually have to have the entire file of the voice ALREADY that is quite a few seconds long on top of it all. You have to remember that in order to replace a 10 second voice file so that it's 8 seconds longer you can't just skip the original 10 seconds, you have to have the entire 18 seconds per file (this is just an example) You understand. Not every file is 10 seconds long, actually not sure if there are a whole too many that long, but they it would still add up. You can request this mod this way from pretty much anyone that speaks both English and whatever else fluently by using the Request / Suggestion forum with a different post, or edit this one to respecify. It may take a while to find someone that has that much time on their hands but just remind them that this kind of a mod would actually be a really big hit as I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that would love to be able to read everything in their own language so that they get the message a lot quicker. I'm starting to digress a bit. Anyways, hope this helps. Should this have helped solve your problem feel free to Kudos me if you feel it worth it, which can be found either at the end of my signature or the left of my post under my avatar along with the statistics. If this did not help solve the problem then feel free to have a wonderful day anyways and hopefully someone else will be able to help your better than I. Shadowfen
You can use this mod, which is located here:http://www.tesnexus....le.php?id=16622 I believe that it adds 8 seconds to each dialogue time, but i have never used it so i am not positive Actually, that mod only creates 8 seconds of silence for dialog that has no voice files, such as for custom mods that don't include voice acting. It doesn't effect anything that already has a voice file associated with it. Unfortunately, I don't know of any mods that do something like that though. Actually, you can use Elys Universal Silent Voice (the mod url that GODSBANE123456 gave you). SteelStiletto is also correct that it only creates an eight second blank "voice" for dialog that has no voice files and does not affect the voiced dialog at all. There is a work-around (or two):1. To increase the amount of time: Create a silent mp3 file of the length that you want. Back up the 8 second Elys_USV.mp3 file someplace safe. (You find it in Data\OBSE\Plugins.) Then replace it with your new mp3 (keeping the same file name). Now Universal Silent Voice will make all non-voiced dialogs display for the amount of time you chose to record silence for.2. To affect ALL dialog - not just the non-voiced mod dialog: Rename (or backup someplace safe) the files in Data named "Oblivion - Voices1.bsa" and "Oblivion - Voices2.bsa". This has the effect of removing all voice acting from Oblivion - ordinarily not a desirable thing, but for your circumstance it may be beneficial - because then Elys Universal Silent Voice will NOW work on the vanilla Oblivion dialog as well.
