Mike1112
Hello ladies and Aliens, I am running Fallout 3 on a Windows Vista 32 System with: Radeon X1950 Pro Xge Video Card 3 Ghz Intel Processor at 256Mb 2 1/2 > 3+ Gig of ram (Metinks) And Fallout still stutters at Medium and Low, Could anyone point me towards something I did wrong? I would post a DXdiag, but I have Vista, and I dont think This OS gives that much info in it.
anokii
Hmm, Rather open-ended question really (and please I'm not trying to be rude).FO3 has a tendency to push even the highest of rigs due to the engine underneath, and I've spent hours on trying to sort out minor issues that annoyed the heck out of me. You could try - Fallout Stutter Remover - works a treat for my rig which is a fair step up from yours: http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8886 Make sure you read the docs though. And don't overlook the video driver - only until the latest release from NVidia I found that a very old driver actually gave me better performance for FO3. Are you loading any texture mods? Those will sometimes push you over the edge in performance especially if you use higher res options in the mods? Other than that your gonna get hit with the usual questions; - have you modded the game- if so whats your load order- have you added any textures- defrag, defrag, defrag and not the Windows one either - use a good after market one. Oh yeah - almost forgot - check this out as it's an extremely valuable guide for performance tuning; http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_1.html
