Dolo420
I used to do some level design back in q2 and q3 engine. Recently started playing fallout 3 and wanted to know more about the mod scene here. If theres any one out there on these forums that might want to help me getting started I would appreciate it. For most stuff I can look up online tutorials. But I would like to meet someone who already has some mod experience so I can get some occasional Q&A. Don't wanna waste time trying to build new content that may already be out. I hear theirs some mods where u can make the girls prettier or naked or bone-able . I'd like to add such mods to my existing game and also build a "nice" custom home some where in the wasteland. If you'd be interested in helping me out or pointing me in the right direction let me know. I would like to make new stuff but I'm not to sure whats already been done before so would really like to talk with someone more experienced with this mod scene. Dolo420
Main concept I was thinking is The Polowski Preservation Bunker. Would double as a second home instead of megaton or Tenpenny towers. I wanted to see if I could put the blue and red pass cards to some use as in game keys. So stepping into a Polowski preservation booth with the right pass would turn them into transport booths back to your home. I also have some ideas for special characters, objects and equipment for inside the bunker.

Dolo420
Thank you for the fast replies I'll post back in a month or so when I'm further along good to see the community here is still active. On a side note I hear new Vegas will be using the same dev engine so I'm guessing content from f3 should be portable?
falloutperson416
Well, that is if they allow us to port stuff from Fallout 3 into New Vegas. We dont own it, Bethesda does.
Dolo420
Well, that is if they allow us to port stuff from Fallout 3 into New Vegas. We dont own it, Bethesda does. ok I could see legal ramifications for someone porting f3 content in a free fnv mod. But for personal use if you own both games wouldn't it just be a matter of copying out some additional assets and changing out a few tags? since its the same engine all content should most likely be abiding by the same value requirements. Player height, poly vis, etc. So it should be " doable " right? Again I'm not suggesting a free community released mod for fnv that contains f3 content, more in the lines of... I built a nice little home in fallout 3 and maybe want to use it as my home in fnv instead of starting from scratch on a new one. Since its the same engine, it should be easily portable shouldn't it ?
bben46
For personal use you can do whatever you want. As long as you do not try to distribute it - free or otherwise. Hopefully Bethsoft will allow FO3 content in New Vegas, and vice versa, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
falloutperson416
Even if Bethesda does, what if Obsidian does'nt? They co - developed it with Bethesda. But I guess it would'nt really matter because Fallout is'nt there game either.
