GrmRpr3000
I have two problems with vampirism, one leading to the other in a way related to me being a fool. Now I always make my character a vampire, however whenever I quit the game (or it crashes) and load it up again, the face on my character changes. Not in the way that Vampirism morphs your face, but the shape changes completely. For some reason getting to 100% vampirism, saving, sleeping/going to jail and then loading again (sometimes I have to sleep again after this) seems to fix it, and the face goes back to how its supposed to be. At least most of the time it does. Now I posted about this on another forum I go to, that isn't actually oblivion related, just a thread, and the only answer I got was to use showracemenu to change the face, saving before clicking "done" and then loading again afterwards (as the showracemenu thing seems to lower minor skills a bit and screw up some other stuff without it) However, this didn't fix it permanantly, and my characters face had changed back to its "wrong" version again. Now here we come onto where I did something stupid. For some reason, dispite it not working before, I decided to do the showracemenu thing again, however I clicked done without saving. I managed to realise this before I clicked ok, and went back to the menu, and saved (however, being the fool I am who hates loads of saves, I saved over my old game and had no other ones to load). However, when I loaded again, a small problem arose, my vampirism had been removed. Now, this annoyed me, but I decided to go get it back by going in a cave etc. But before that I had to sell some stuff, so I go to a merchant, but they won't talk to me, they think I'm still a vampire. And I soon found that I couldn't get vampirism back (though I do still have Hunters Sight ability). So now I'm stuck, I can't get vampirism back, I can't talk to anyone, and I can't feed to go back to normal. Is there anything I can do to fix this? (the second problem as a priority but the first one would be nice too) Or will I have to continue with this second character I've made and get back to where I was (wasn't that far I admit, but I still don't want to do the main quest and the other stuff I've done again) Thanks for any help you can give me. PS: I hope this is the right forum

EasyTarget_DK
Hi I thin I Can help you! Firt of all, the problem you mention about the face which changes, this is because you use a vampire mod - i gues you have used Di0xVampirism.(Great mod by the way) In this vampire mod there is a bug - should be the only bug so far I Know. When you load a vampire game your face is changed to a ugly standard male face. You can come around that problem by loading a nonvampire savegame first when you start your Oblivion. Then afterwards you load your vampire game and your face is as it should be. When you mentions your problem about messed up your game. I am not sure if you have deleted your vampire mod from oblivion/data and installed severel mods after one another? If you have? this is your problem and you should solve it by copy your vampire mod file into oblivion again and activate it.(the right mod) If this doesn't work, Then I only have one last opputunity(sorry my english) You should download eldarines vampire mod - there should be a fix in the mod, so when you load your game a message tells you that your files are fixed with eldarines vampire mod. Then afterwards you should disable his mod again and copy Di0x's vampire mod into your oblivion folder and activate it instead of eldarines. Important you may only use one vampire mod at a time. Last thing your problem could also sound like you have used the cure vampirism potion? Or by a game error this potions ability is added? When you use a vampire cure potion - the only one in the game it is not possible to become a vampire again, so you no! Cya hope you fix your problem, so you don't loose your character. I am working on a new modified vampire mod - Check it out when i upload it on elderscroll's mod page.(SStender Vampire mod...)
GrmRpr3000
Hey there. Thanks for the reply. I don't actually have any vampire related mods at the moment, not even downloaded one (though perhaps I should), this happened as a bug in the game itself. I have not done the vampire cure thing either, though that damn skingrad count always appears to suddenly find me and talk to me about no matter how many times I say I don't want to help. As for the face problem, although again it's just the game itself not a mod, I will try making and then loading a non-vampire character first to see if it helps at all. If anyone else knows anything about this I would be very grateful. Though at least I did manage to find a backup save game I had, though its like 7 levels behind, still would like to go back to where I was. ResidentWeevil2077
I'm just experiencing this problem right now, and I'm tellin' ya, it's like a bug up my arse >:( . This is only the second time I became a vampire (the other time was as a Dark Elf), and it's a very discouraging glitch with Oblivion. I don't think Bethesda realizes that their game had a bunch of glitches and bugs when they decided to release it. I tell ya, if I had been on the dev team, I wouldn't have allowed vampirism to increase one's character age. Vampires to me can be very beautiful, and this glitch turns me off. Guest Tessera
Oh, I'm sure Bethesda was -very- aware that their game was buggy on release. That's the nature of this industry... people work on scheduled deadlines and come hell or high water, the product rolls out on schedule whenever possible. Ship it today and patch it tomorrow. Compound this with the fact that Oblivion is yet another PC game that was subjected to a crappy port to a silly plastic console system (360)... well, anyway, I'll shut up before I go off on another of my tirades. 8) So far as the vampire thing is concerned, there are some bad mods out there. Avoid them. That's my best advice at the moment and I realize it's not very helpful.
ResidentWeevil2077
I know, tight schedules and whatnot can be a pain  . Anyway, I'm currently doing what was suggested before (loading up a previous "non-vamp" game, the loading up my current game) for the time being, although it's a minor inconvenience at worst. I'm not using any vamp mods, except for the "Vampire Aging Disabled" mod. And my game was like this BEFORE I used that mod, so I know for sure it can't be that.
