Renaming .esp files

I think you can freely rename them unless you use resources in .bsa. Renaming an already active one keeps it active but the game recognises it as a new one and erases progress with that mod, also screws up when something is really dependant on it (like a savegame with a race mod or a different .esp depending on the first).

You lose the connection to all your silent dialog or voiced dialog when you rename a mod. You can still rename mods, you will just have to reconnect everything, replace it, or suffer without. The folks at BOSS hate it when you rename a mod.

Ok, thanks for answering. I'll try that TESGecko thing and if it doesn't work, I'll just keep the old name.

 

It doesn't have any dialogue though, since it's just a building mod, but I'll just leave it be in case I'm gonna screw it all up.
