Samualln
Well on the X-box version if you press "X" it skips the dialogue, but the PC version doesn't... can someone make a mod that if we press (for example) "C" (If C wasn't assigned as a shortcut key) to skip the chat for some of the more boring chats that we run into (like Gray Warden Ceremony? danscott84
Escape skips dialogue and some cutscenes on the PC.
DarkeWolf
ESC also works on some of the opening cutscenes and the EA logo and BW logo splash screens. ;)

DarkeWolf
Re: the EA and BW logo screens - deleting the corresponding file is much quicker in the long run, saves wear and tear on the Esc key too :wink:Not having them run at all, also helps the game load up faster on the start, and saves a tad bit of system resources. Tho I've always just disabled them in the dragonage.ini file, rather than trying to hunt them down to delete them. (Just because I'm lazy when I can be....) To disable them in the .ini file, you just browse to documents/bioware/dragonage/settings, then open the dragonage.ini file in notepad. Scroll down to nearly the very end of the file, where it reads DisableIntroMovies=0 Change the 0 to a 1 and then click on File/Save. Makes it so that the splashscreens dont run.Should look like this aftewards.DisableIntroMovies=1 FirstRun=0 0=dragon_age_ea_logo.bik 1=dragon_age_main.bik EDIT- Yikes! What's up with those colors in the code? Sorry if that gets hard to read for ya, it must be a site error or something, I didnt put those in there. [/edit] Included the last two lines so that you'd know which files to look for, if you want to take a shot at deleting them instead. (tho their filenames won't have the underscores "_" in it) The method that I would use to find them, would be to go to your installation folder for DA.... should be something like C:/program files/dragon age/ or C:/games/dragon age (sorry, I have a custom install on mine, on a seperate hard drive) and then have windows do a search of that folder for those two particular files.Or if you dont want to outright delete them, you can just rename their extension to something like "whatever".old to just disable them.Tho I like the ini edit better, cause it saves the computer from having to look for files that aren't there. ;) NOT to say that Rusty's suggestion isn't good. Both methods work great, its just a personal preference as to which one you want to use ;) Edited August 5, 2010 by DarkeWolf
Thandal
A quicker, cleaner, and reversible way to do the same thing as these .ini edits is to check the "Skip Intro Movies" option box under the "Confgure" menu. (You know, the one you never go to because you just click "Play" when the DA Theme music starts! ) But the "Esc" key is the correct "skip dialogue" option. As noted, it also ends/skips cutscenes. Use with caution if you haven't seen/don't remember what's being said, else you could miss important (even vital!) info. DarkeWolf
Hahaha Well, that will teach me to actually play around with those configuration settings! Good one Thandal, I usually just hit the graphics and sound levels then do everything else via file edits.

DarkeWolf
Good job at bumping a thread that was cleared up in the first reply...Well, with all due respect... adding additional information that is pertinant to what is requested, isnt considered to be bumping, thread necromancy, spamming, or... bad. ;)And well... the posts have been relevant to what the OP was asking for, which is to skip some of the unwanted scenes and stuff that the game has.
