Trouble with Blender

I have downloaded and installed ALL the components needed I think, but I'm not sure I did it right.

 

The programs I downloaded and installed are:

Blender 2.49b

python 2.7

PyFFI-2.1.5.cb92090

blender_nif_scripts-2.5.5.90a8d2f

 

Please, anyone who know anything about this, are these the right programs(python2.6 isn't on the download page for python anymore and the 4th item on the list doesn't read python 2.7 as an upgraded version)

You could try this as an alternative. This is a modified version of Blender designed to work without the need for installing, so that it can be run either on the hard drive or on a removable drive such as a USB stick, and it says it has Python integrated into it. You'd still need to install the NIF scripts into it, though.

Which one? The page with the nif scripts that I saw had like 20 or so different ones.

Thank you so much, the online helper stuff doesn't help so much anymore since it just confuses me like crazy.
