Trying to troubleshoot annoying crash

I've read thru a couple post I've found.

 

Make sure you have the latest videocard drivers then turn the driver settings to max performance ensuring that v-sync and triple buffering are off.

 

Game is patched. I run 197.45 WHQL with nHancer, but all my Oblivion settings are default. I'll set it to a lower quality mode and get back to you on that. ( 197 isn't the latest and greatest but it's the last one that works with nHancer )

 

And yes, game patched! Of course. Official and unofficial, for all DLC's and expansion and regular game.

 

Do you have the unofficial oblivion patch supplemental and the unofficial official mods patch assuming you are using mods? Oblivion Crash Preventer works wonders.

Still having problems with crashing. I had a hard lock-up yesterday as I was walking outside (changed grids I think) which was really unusual. I'm going to lower exterior cell buffer and see if that will help.

 

Yes, in the post right before yours I said I used all the official and unofficial patches.

 

And yeah, I use the Crash Prevention System. I would probably crash a wholle lot more if I didn't.

Yeah I just noticed you said you have all the unofficial patches I just wanted to make sure you have the supplemental unofficial oblivion patch because that patch gets updated all the time.

I think Streamline work 90% fine...

But @ the cost of realism.

 

Or try OSR (Oblivion Stutter Remover).
