Removing Deleted Users Pages

Just wondering why some pages that have had their content removed don't simply get deleted?

Happenened upon this page http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33502 which obviously had pirated copies of KotN DLC. The comments page shows Admin have removed the content, which I agree with by the way, and the uploader has also been banned, again I agree, when it occurred to me why don't pages like these just get deleted?

EDIT by LHammonds: As of 10/1/2010, that page does not exist. If you see a mod page with no files associated to it (and no mirror links) please report it and we will remove it. If it is a new page, please allow 48 hours since some people may be having technical difficulty or very slow connections.

I would say purely to show evidence of the banned members wrongdoing.

When people that get banned from this site, in almost all occasions the staff will show their ruling, and the reason for the ban - publically, so by keeping the page as evidence of the wrongdoing, people can see that the decision was made with good reason.

Exactly, it is used as a reference. To un-clutter things though, they could make an Archive section to place them in instead of leaving them up in the section they were posted. Just a suggestion though.

As a website admin before, I can tell you how people that hold grudges just wait for the evidence to be deleted. Then they go on a rampage about their buddy being banned and you no longer have the evidence to support the ban. X.x It has to be left open to the public. There are some crazy people out there, and I can personally say, it can make an admins' life pretty rough. Man, admins' just don't get the respect they deserve. :(

I am also a website admin, and I can understand exactly what you mean. When some users are banned and their friends are angered because of it, they tend to lash out on their friends behalf. It's completely normal and I understand why, but those that do this, need to learn that it is that persons fault and not the administrators. They also need to keep a civilized manner with them when asking why their peers got banned, so as not to cause a scene, and keep themselves from being banned also.
