My favorite weapon would probably have to be the Ebony Blade.

Ebony Longsword, & Ebony Bow with silver arrows..

Balanced, Fair, and entirely lethal.

Sadly, in oblivion ebony (non enchanted) does not count for damage to ALL creatures (same as silver) as it did in morrowind..

Actually I think that having everything past dwarven damage supernatural enemies made them seem too mundane. Most characters would have a dwarven weapon by level 5, making fighting dremora feel like brushing off another cliff racer assualt. But I think if you have ebony/glass stuff, it should probably damage deadric/undead enemies.

I like Shortswords, Katana's, Longswords, and daggers, and Dual wielding any combonation of those is pretty good too. Bow and Arrows are good, as is Magic. But I just completely HATE Blunt and/or two handed weapons. And I have no idea why that guy would want to wear a steel helm. Those are about the ugliest in the entire game.

I have to say those ARE the ugliest in the game.I was disapointed with al steel and Blackwood armor.I like light armor and no heavy except ebony and imperial draggon.

I'd have to say one of my biggest gripes about the game is the helmets. If I had a choice, I would probably replace half of them with with helmets made out of glued together fish and rats! But anyways, speaking of Daedric, I think their weapons could have been a little more jagged.
