BakaSmurf
As the topic title states, I'm here to request a mod that makes smoke effects/flame textures invisible, which would hopefully, improve fps for those who run Dragon Age on a laptop like myself. Now, before anyone says anything, I have everything that can be switched off performance-wise off, I've even tried using low quality models and textures, but the game always slows to a crawl whenever smoke or anything that resembles smoke such as fog, enters my field of view, flames have this affect too, but it isn't nearly as profound as smoke. Now, I'm sure that I'm not the only one that suffers from this problem, and since I've seen mods for Oblivion and Fallout 3 which improve FPS via giving smoke/fog invisible textures, I was hoping the same could be done with Dragon Age. If it turns out it's actually impossible then I suppose I'll just have to suffer barely playable slow downs whenever I approach smoke/fog, but any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Also, please, don't be a smart-ass and tell me to just get a new graphics card, because you know what? Not everyone is as financially gifted as you are, and are forced to make do with what they have. Chiramu
I think we also need some type of mod that would stop the fps slowing to a crawl when fighting the Lady of the Forest. Without fail, that fight is always CRAWLING. Perhaps some nice modder could work out what it is about the Sylvan's(the tree monsters, I think that is their name) that makes the fps go slow :<. I had always assumed it was the leaves, myself, as the rest of the model doesn't exactly seem like it'd be overly taxing on CPU, not to mention that I found if one were to manuevour the camera in such a way that their leaves weren't visible, the fps sped up significantly. Maybe this kind modder that we're praying will come along will also make the Sylvan's leaves invisible? Here's to hoping.
