barrioboy09
I want to make several hair meshes that are layered and not blocky, but i've run into a brick wall at the moment. :wallbash: Making the mesh isn't the issue, but I don't know how to make the edges of the mesh (the ends of the hair) look thinned out/see-through and not just a solid plane when the texture is applied. In other words, I want to know how to adjust the settings for the texture or uv map to make the ends of bangs look something more like the hair in ren's beauty pack. It's really annoying and the only real help or tutorials for hair dealt w/particles, so a solution or guidance to help would be much appreciated. I'd prefer some blender help, but I'll take anything at this point. Thanks in advance
Valkyrie
I think your gonna have to modify the texture for it. Heres a texture I did for a tail that thins out at the end to a transparent section. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/Valkyrie-Krazo/Untitled-14.png I can walk ya thru doing some of it but its like 2:30 am here and I need my beauty sleep. I'll chack back after a quick nap :ermm:

To play it safe, I would appreciate the walk through whenever you get a chance. I noticed that when I opened up ren's dds file that the alpha channel showed the actual cut of the hair, do I need to do that or will erasing the ends of the actual texture to something like your example work out just as well? kinda curious, how would I apply that alpha channel to a mesh in blender to get that transparency? i'll continue looking into this now that I know about the alpha channel stuff, and thanks for the help.
