Sound Driver disabled

I play fallout 3 and when it stays at the main menu for awhile or i play for awhile

The sound conitues in game yet when i play and other program no sound is play and winamp tells me a bad direct sound driver is install. When i quit fallout 3 and enter back in it has no sound and now my whole system has no sound until i restart.

This only happens when i run fallout 3 yet it never use to do this
