Low Vram what texture mods make most of a difference in game?

Like the title says I am only using 1gb of vram and my current mod setup lags like crazy so I am going to start over fresh with less mods. Honestly the two things hat are going to have to be changed for my game in particular are the ground texture and the awful awful tree stump texture.

It depends in your system. My computer shipped with a basic Nvidia GT640 video card that handled the textures ok, but as soon as I tried ENB, my framerates dropped to like 5 fps, making the game essentially unplayable. VRAM is only part of the story with ENB, but it isn't hard to try one out. If it works, great; otherwise I would recommend I Can't Believe It's Not An ENB + Imaginator, which is what I used until I upgraded my video card.

By setting it up in a certain way you can have your RAM do "most" of the work, but will most certainly still put a strain on your GPU. The best way to find out would be to test it and see what happens, but my guess would be probably not :(.

I have a 550 Ti 1GB (with an [email protected], 8GB RAM, on some P.O.S Hitachi HDDs), and I used Skyrim 2k Lite, SMIM (full), WATER (medium), Tamriel Reloaded, Skyrim Flora Overhaul 188a (with the added plants/trees etc.), Book of Silence with Hvergelmir's textures on top...a number of other texture mods ranging from 1-2k, with the occasional 4k texture, but I've named the big mods...and Project ENB for ENBSeries v119, realistic version with SSAO (meaning, no ENBoost.)

I also didn't have SSME, Safety Load, nor all the other goodies that have turned up in the past year-ish, which you really should have a look at. To keep my game stable with around 125 .esp mods, I used Grass on Steroids to keep things under control outside (think my grass setting was at around 90-95), and Project Optimisation for the inside.

Anyway, the above is what I played with, and my last playthrough lasted 2+ hours (I got bored after 2 hours so quit, but the game stayed stable). As for FPS, I remember it being something like...25-35 outside, 50-60 inside, so I was pretty much at the limit of what my computer could do. If you have similar specs to mine, then what I put above may be the limit your computer can do, although ENBoost etc. should help you with stability and such. If you have better specs than mine, you may be able to push it a little more, but only if you don't mind your FPS going as low as 25. X3

(Have a look at QuietCool ENB; it's the one I plan on using once I get my new computer built, and it looks like it has similar colours and such as Project ENB, but is made for a newer version of ENB.)
