SarsVirus
I recently updated the drivers for my video card and since then Fallout 3 has stopped working. I have since tried uninstalling everything, manually wiping the entire registry and then reinstalling a fresh version which works perfectly. After that I tried all my mods separately and they also worked with vanilla Fallout 3, however even without any mods activated as soon as I install the 1.7 patch Fallout 3 can no longer boot, it just shows a black screen and plays 5 seconds of sound before crashing with no error. I have tried playing with 1.6 patch, which works, however when I do none of the models or textures for any DLC will show up in game while the DLC is still clearly active. Any help would be appreciated.
KDStudios
This happened to me when I updated my Nvidia Geforce 250 So I just used system restore and figured "Hey it works why update?" =P Personally I recommend reverting back to before you updated the driver. Btw how do other games play now since you updated?
SarsVirus
Well, I guess reverting back is worth a shot. Had not really thought about doing it before, but all my other games play pretty much the same so I do not think it would really have any effect. Thanks. Edit: It worked, and so far no adverse side effects, except Fallout 3 only boots in 1680x1050 mode. Thank ye KDStudios.
