Unable to run Morrowind exe after installing Morrowind Overhaul

So I have had morrowind running previously with the overhaul installed but had to reinstall after having to restore my computer. I am pretty familiar with modding and so can follow the instructions easily for installing the overhaul. However, every single time after I install the overhaul launching the game (via the launcher and through the file menu directly) fails as "morrowind.exe does not exist". Now the install process for the overhaul for all appearances happened correctly sooooo I am at a bit of a loss right now. I have installed all times using a clean install of morrowind that I started up prior to beginning to install the overhaul.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Looks like permission problem. Is your OS is Vista/7/8 ? If yes did you install it inside Program files? Then move it outside the program files. Just cut and paste the Morrowind folder to somewhere else like C:/Games or may be to another drive.

I'm on 8.1 and the game is e drive which goes directly to the steam directory, like E:\steam\steamapps\common\morrowind. I will go give your advice a try

Edit: So this most likely has to do with it being a steam copy but moving outside the previously mentioned directory causes everything to stop working even with running as admin. Doing some research I found that generally moving a game from the steam directory=bad time and I have yet to find something that discusses what's going on with my setup.

Edit 2: Alright so went in to steam and verified integrity of game cache and now I can play it, I didn't want to do this originally because I'm sure the overhaul overwrites and changes some of the files got reinstalled by steam....kind of feel like problems are going to start cropping up but I guess this is progress.
