Makkron Posted August 8, 2010 Share Posted August 8, 2010 Pretty much at my wit's end here. :/ First off, an introduction. Hi! After blowing money on getting a PC, finally moving away from the Mac's i've been using since I was 5, I've started playing games on the computer- mainly oblivion and Fallout 3. Had these on my Xbox but I wanted to try them out with mods. No problems with Oblivion aside from learning the does and don'ts of installing and running mods, but even with that knowledge Fallout 3 has been quite the pain. For one thing i'm on a quad core so thanks to the glitch introduced in one of the early patches I have to run the game on 2 cores- not fun ¬_¬. But now the game has started freezing every other minute. I had just entered the vault containing the G.E.C.K in the main story line, and the moment I got close to the lab my game froze. Thinking not too much of it I restarted.. and when I got to that place, I froze again.And ever since then... oh boy, they keep rolling in. I'm not sure whats causing my game to freeze so much- a mod conflict, a glitch, beats me. But I do know that I made no changs what so ever to my mods, load order, files or anything. I'd gotten to a point just before that, powered down for the night, woke up ready to play some more and the crashing began. If I save the game repeatedly I can make a little headway at least but now it's increased in occurance to the point where i'm stuck trying to leave my cell in Ravens Rock. The particular type of crash is that the game locks up for a moment, then I'm booted back to the desktop, and I am informed that Fallout 3 has stopped working. After it gives up trying to find the problem it informs me it's crashed (hurr durr really). And these crashes happen no matter what- I've had it crash when I open a container, access a computer, fire my gun, holster my gun (in both cases different weapons ranging from miniguns to pistols), bring up my pip boy, looking at a wall, running.. hence why i'm having trouble pinning it down. My load order is as follows, if that helps- does any of this conflict? I have the compatability patch for FOOK2 1.1 and MMM. But like I said, that game was fine until I entered the vault, and the problem persist in Ravens Rock. Turned it off and bang no more freeze. So, help a newb out? Is there something glaringly stupid wrong with my load order? Oh, and I've used sorting software like BOSS already, and ''check for conflicts'' in FOMM doesn't seem to do anything. anokii Posted August 9, 2010 Share Posted August 9, 2010 You haven't installed FOOK2 correctly and you have mods which are in the latest FOOK2. You may also want to check the compatibility list as well - I think you might have some conflicting ones as well. Your load order isn't the best for FOOK2 - Try following the instructions at: http://www.fookunity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4212 Also you can get all the latest FOOK2 files from; http://www.yourfook.com/downloads/ FOMM's load order checking isn't the greatest and BOSS doesn't do a bad job but it still isn't 100% - just a guide, When using large mods like FOOK2 - MMM - etc you really need to check out the relevant documentation in their readme files. Isn't "RR" a companion mod? If it is it's probably conflicting with FOOK2 as it has a companion mod (Phalanx) as well. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
