Yaeye
Okay so I know how to save the download and I know about the whole drag it to the Content Updater. But what I don't know what to do when I go to every add on and see that it's not a .dazip. Is there some way to still make those add ons work with Dragon Age: Origins? I got one to work, but the ones I wanted to use won't work with the Content Updater. Can anyone help? -EDIT- Also I now have the DAMM. But the ones i put in my override folder seem to not work. and even the ones that tell me are working aren't working. I marked them for use and they dont seem to work. I have Windows 7 maybe thats the problem? also i have the latest patch to Dragon Age. The 1.04 patch. can anyone help out? -Edit2- The files im trying to get to work are .rar, .7z and compressed (zip) folders.is it just the mods not working? because i dont know whats wrong. RustyBlade
Go to your My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override folder and put them in there. If the file has an override extension you will need to install it with DAO-Modmanager also known as DAMM.

AbrasaxDrake
Forgive such a simple question but are you unpacking the .rar/ .7z/ .zip files first?

AbrasaxDrake
There is DA Modder (DAM) and there is DA Mod Manager (DAMM). Both of them are very good, and both of them can install mods that are in .dazip or .zip format. DAMM can also install mods that are proprietary to DAMM called .overridesDAM is here- http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=286DAMM is here- http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=277 for zips and dazips all you have to do is drag and drop the zip/dazip file into the program and it will start up the installation. If its a .rar .7z or something like that, you'll need a program that can handle those formats to unpack them first. 7zip is a good one for that, but it includes an installed web browzer bar. so if you dont want taht installed, I'd go with peazip. you can find them both thru google ;)7zip is easier to use for a novice, peazip is a bit more advanced. But both of them will handle the job of unpacking them from the .rar or .7z format. zipgenius is another altenative. But you certainly need one of these programs. IF the modder didnt put them into a .dazip file inside that folder, you can just take the files and place them in a new folder in documents/bioware/dragon age/packages/core/OVERRIDE. IF by chance you dont have an override folder, you can create a new folder inside core, and name it override, and it will work fine :) If you provide a list of the mods you are having problems with i will try to write you a step by step guide to get you up and running. DarkeWolf
Oh wow, I'm being quoted! :D Thanks Drake! Kudos given for the ego boost, and the recommendation about zipgenius, I'll have to check into that program  Yaeye- ok, you've got several formats (types) of files that are what are known as compressed files or compressed archives. This is a method of taking Several Different files, and making them into One file. In this particular case, it's taking all the files from whatever mod, and turning it into one .zip .rar .7z or .dazip file, for easier download. The game itself cannot read these singular files, so they need to be restored back into their original form, for the game to be able to access them. Restoring or accessing these different files has several different terms. Unzipping, unpacking, extracting, pulling, ripping.... they all mean, getting the files back out of that singular file. Restoring them to their original state. Which is why you need to download and install one of the unzipping programs that I or Drake recommended, because the tools that came with the game, or the tools that the modding community have provided, arent capable of handling them in .rar or .7z format.Once you've got one of these programs that are capable of doing it, its very easy to unpack/extract them. You just find where you Downloaded (DL'd) the file to on your computer, and then right click on it. After installing one of those programs the right click context menu will now have several extraction options. The wording for these options varies, depending on which program you have, but they all basically do the same thing. You want to find the one that either extracts the contents of the file to a specific folder on your computer (which would be documents/bioware/dragonage/packages/core/override) or extract them into a new folder, which you can then just copy and paste (CnP) into your override folder. ;)OR, if you want to install them thru DAM or DAMM you can just right click on the new folder, use the option to add it to a new .ZIP file, and then Drag and Drop (DnD) the new .zip file into DAM or DAMM.
