Nicely messed up MQ, Help?

So ya, I completely broke the Main Quest scripting. I'm not sure what mod did it....too late now anyway. In any case, I had started a new game recently after installing Oblivion again for the first time in over a year. Got to the point along the MQ where I rescue Martin and take him up to Cloud Ruler, now Jauffre is supposed to make a member of the Blade right? He did not do that, in fact the option for asking him about the Blades wasn't even in his dialogue list. Plugging merrily along I ignored that glitch and went to visit Baurus, we went to the basement got the 1st book.....and he would not lead me to the sewer meeting after I got the letter from Gwinas...He said I will lead you to the spot...but he didn't move. So I used player.setstage MQ05 76 to advance the quest. it worked but now Baurus is missing in the ether and I'm still not a member of the blades. And also I have no save games prior to the screw up.

 

Is there a way/code to reset the MQ of something to fix this?

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

 

Btw, I'm hoping for a solution that doesn't involve reinstalling the game...I realize I did this with a mod and I have since removed said mods..but It's still broken..so hoping for alternate solution short of reinstall.

Just unchecking a mod does not remove it, neither does deleting the esp. Unless you use either OMODs or BAIN to install mods it leaves behind every texture, mesh and anything else installed with the mod.

 

For troubleshooting here is a way to completely remove all mods, except music replacers. It does not remove the official patch. It is completely reversible.

Thx for the tip, but I realize that the esp is not the whole mod. I turn any mod I download into an OMOD before I actually use it. I also manually went through the Oblivion directory after I deactivated all the mods to make sure all the modded meshes/textures/animations etc were gone. I'm just looking for a console code or another mod that can reset in game scripts so either to completely reset the MQ or at least fix whats broken.

You might be in for lots of trouble. You might need to use eight or ten console codes before you can complete the main quest. (Not very immersive. You might spend as much time in the CS as in the game.) You might want to just start a new character. But if you are a skilled modder and a skilled console code user, I think you will be able to diagnose and solve problems as they arise by opening the CS every time you find a problem and composing the proper console code to fix it.

 

But no, I do not believe there is any possible code to reset the main quest. Quest stages advance. They never seem to go backwards.
