Printing Press

I remember having a mod in Morrowind that added a printing press. With how widely available books are in Tamriel (and even many of the same copies of certain books), there would very likely be a printing press around somewhere, but we never get a chance to see them. Things like journals and reports are likely handmade, but seeing as copies of some books are plentiful and exactly the same, it's unlikely they are simply being copied by one person. It would be cool to see a printing press added somewhere, perhaps one in Solitude, maybe near the Bard's college, another maybe near the college in Winterhold, one in Whiterun and maybe Windelm or Markarth.

Since there was apparently a Publishing studio in Solitude, I wouldn't be surprised if that was exactly where it was. But yeah, Having one in Solitude(the center of literature) and Winterhold(the center of Academia) would make perfect sense. Actually, it would be really good if the one in Winterhold was not actually affiliated with the College, but rather the two shops were part of the same business, and the Winterhold branch gets most of its business from the College.

However, the college's bad reputation within Winterhold has led to some decline in profit for that branch, so maybe there could be a few quests to find some new writers, all interested in getting published, but can't get to Solitude to do it. There could be one in Windhelm (Perhaps a Dunmer over there wants to write a story about his life in a city that hates his kind), Riften (I'm pretty sure that "Thief" book was written there and i see it all over the place so it must be a popular title), Whiterun (maybe a Companion always fancied himself a writer but was rejected from the Bard's College because of his "boorish and uncultured" writing, so he became a Companion instead)

Actually, it would make sense for Whiterun, the center of trade and commerce, to have a Printing Press Station there as well, if not to publish writers, but to sell books at least.

Jon Battle-born does fancy himself a poet. I do like the sound of those expanded ideas.

Almost every home in Skyrim has at least a few books, regardless of what class standing the owner has. So I'd think that they'd definitely be getting books from somewhere. Having a few mods that add book shops are a nice edition, but that doesn't tell us how they are made.

I hear that Azura's Watch is going to have a printing press, and while it's a mod for Skyrim, it's technically not in Skyrim, so not sure if it counts? But I guess that means there is a resource somewhere for it.

That's right :D

And the resource will soon be added to my resource compilation "Assorted Resources" - together with some other stuff.
