aggelon
Hello room, I'm not a modder, I'm not a dev, so this mod is my very first mod... I'm talking about http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom/mods/508 Hidden covers. My aim is to get a feeling like older X-COM, where covers are not displayed. This mod seems OK (I've tried on vanilla only), covers are not displayed, but I can't find where are the icons of the status of my characters, like this http://aggelonware.free.fr/xcom-eu/mods/hidden-covers/covers.jpg Since I'm very new, I've only used Texmod. I've launched the game in logging mode, identified needed textures, then modified it, and created my mod (*.tpf)... but by this way, I can't find status icons... I have to search by others ways ? Thank you very much for your help... aggelon Edited November 10, 2014 by aggelon
Zyxpsilon
These additional Cover-Icons are being added by a custom GFX script (designed by XMarksTheSpot) straight from a TacticalHud class (related to the Unit_Flag code items) pre-compiled within the UICollectionTactical.UPK file. Their Sprites are built-in elements of the Unit-Flag indicator (Turns, Health-Bars, Moves, etc). Similarly, the custom Overwatch "EYES" are also part of that function and use the same basic principles as Cover-Icons to show up on the Unit-Flag top corner. Sadly -- changing or altering such a feature requires extensive (as in VERY complex) edits in a number of other files as well.
