Game stalls and random crashes

Hi everyone.

 

For the past day or so, I've been having a problem with Fallout 3. I currently believe their could be three possible reasons, since the crashes happened AFTER they were installed:

 

1. CitiesXL (another game) was installed. (Uninstalled, but freezes and crashes remain.)

2. Flyable Vertibird mod installed. (Removed the esp. file from the Data folder, again, nothing changed.)

3. Broken Steel DLC was installed.

4. Companion Share And Recruit mod was installed.

5. Metin2 US was installed.

 

Solutions tried, but failed:

 

Installing CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) did nothing to help.

Installing Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch did nothing to help

 

Ever since one of the have been installed, the game keeps crashing, but I don't know what's causing it. The crashes are random, so they don't have a particular time or place. Sometimes the game may simply freeze, but that's not as often as the game crashes.

 

My computer specs are good, since I've been running this game perfectly until the above were installed.

 

I was thinking about getting the latest official patch, but after reading some very disastrous comments, I don't think I want to anymore.

 

If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it. I miss playing the game when it wasn't crashing.

Anyone? I really want to play Fallout 3 again, but until this gets fixed, I might as well be spending most of my time saving my games.

 

EDIT: I had no choice but to reset my PC to factory settings. I think a virus may have been responsible. This thread can be closed.

Have you tried disabling all mods and running the vanilla FO3 and see if the problem persists?

Then try each mod one by one - painful I know but without posting your load order it's hard from this side too....!!

Ok, there could be more problems with crashing, so please don't close just yet.

 

When I finish getting the mods I want, I'll post an image of my FOMM list. Just a quick question, could mod conflicts be responsible for crashes?

EDIT: There seems to be a crash that always happens when I get near the Tenpenny Tower Door. It crashes to the desktop as soon as I stand next to it. (This was fixed by entering from the balcony using tcl and by entering the lobby.)

After installing new graphics drivers, I think the crashing and freezing has stopped.
