Delaying Initial Alien Deployment

Is it possible to customize when aliens first appear, like how they're delayed when in Marathon mode? I'd even be okay with a scaler function/variable if that exists; I just need it separate from Marathon mode.

 

My ultimate goal is to edit some constants and get a longer game out of it. Most Marathon mode changes seem doable within DefaultGameCore.ini (build times/costs, panic levels) but if there's a setting for alien timing, I haven't seen it.

The appearance of aliens is tied to the current month, and is hard-coded within some functions in XComStrategyGame.upk >> XGStrategyAI. Marathon mode basically doubles the effective month in which aliens appear. This is for vanilla -- Long War has modded in rather different systems.
