Tokeijikaku
So, almost every character I've played has gotten to level 100 in alchemy before getting to 70 in his/her main combat skill. Same goes for smithing and to a lesser extent enchanting. Other useful skills that typically level slowly do just that and never get off the ground. In the Uncapper ini you can change the rate at which any given skill progresses, and you can make it so that the rates change depending on the current level of that skill. For example, you can set alchemy to level at 75% the normal rate after it reaches 50, and then 50% after it reaches 75. You can also make it so that the progression rate of skills depend on the character's current level. For example, you can set alchemy to level at 75% rate after your character hits level 30 or whatever. But how about this: Is there a mod, or is it possible to make a mod, that slows or even flat out halts the progression rate of any given skill if that skill is too high compared to the current player level? Quick and dirty example, let's say there's a hard cap on each skill, calculated thusly: [current_player_level] * [tuning_multiplier (1.5, perhaps)] + [base_skill_level (15/20/25 for any given skill depending on race)] + [wiggle_room (so the cap isn't too close, let's say 5)] Using this formula (rounded up), the cap for minor skills (those that start at 15) would be 22 at level 1, 35 at level 10, 50 at level 20, 65 at level 30, and so on - the lowest level at which you could get any skill to 100 would be level 53. But again, this is just to illustrate the idea. Instead of hard caps the mod could have soft caps, the skill progressing slower and slower the further above the cap it is. If you wanted to be extra elaborate, the mod could boost the progression rates of underleveled skills, perhaps even have the magnitude of that boost depend on how many skill levels you've gained in the archetype (mage/warrior/thief) that the underleveled skill corresponds to.
