OopsAboutThat
Hey, I'm not exactly super new to modding so I generally have an idea about what I'm supposed to do, but I just don't know what to make of this. Firstly, I'm not able to install certain mods through MO. When I try, I get this error: http://i.imgur.com/3rgLbCV.png Not too sure what's going on here, as I've been following the STEP project guide for the most part. Don't know if this is a related thing but when I try to open certain (most) archives with Winrar or 7zip I get an error. This error isn't exclusive to the mods that don't install properly through MO. 7Zip: http://i.imgur.com/2Fzfw4G.png and Winrar: http://i.imgur.com/BA2ycB7.png I've tried installing the files of Nexus multiple time with the same result. Also just tried installing it with the "Download With Manager" button on Nexus and it's still not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Edited November 15, 2014 by OopsAboutThat
Purr4me
Is WMX the only mod effected? can you post the files sizes as well? Note: the download size as the browser states the file is when downloading it verses what you end up with verses whats posted / listing on the files tab on site. this..appears as corrupted downloads.PS: never mind, I see the problem, the first post / picture tells all.http://i.imgur.com/3rgLbCV.png Tell me. what operating system can handle more that 64 character "file names" ?Talk to the author of that mod's packaging. OopsAboutThat
Thanks, I thought it looked like a bit ridiculous. It also effects NMC. The file size I have for WMX is 80,756kb.
Purr4me
Just remember that any OS no matter what it is has a limit, these limits get reduced as the directory structures increase in tenth.Steam places the game structure so far down that path, mod,s and authors are responsible for file name tenths period. There are programs that can extract that data but judging by this? I would not bother with that download.I can think it might be a mistake too, a miss upload of some work got caught n the swing of things. we are after all Humans....I think >
Purr4me
Thanks, I thought it looked like a bit ridiculous. It also effects NMC. The file size I have for WMX is 80,756kb.(80,756kb) or is that megabytes ?http://s26.postimg.org/del7yg07d/WMX_TEST.jpgDID some checking, I would say the download is / was corrupted "incomplete" based on what I have.Though it won't install with mod from inside steams depth, nor will the image burn it, it gets kicked out due to file name length. It will extract raw though....suppose you attempted to extract it and then sort out the root folder from that, move that directly into MO;s mod folder, and launch MO, it should now recognition it. ?Don't know how else to help you here.Kitty Edited November 15, 2014 by Purr4me
