Wrye Bash won't start

I just downloaded Wrye Python and Wrye Bash and when I tried to run it, it didn't. This seems to be a pretty common problem, I already thought I found a solution:

Generating the Bugdump

• Open a command shell (Start: Programs: Accessories: Command Prompt).

• chdir to the Mopy directory. "chdir" means "change directory". E.g.: chdir C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy

• Type: c:\python25\python.exe bash.py -d

This seemed to help for some people, but when I do it, it says that the path can't be found. Did I install it wrong or what?

Also, are there any alternatives to this?

What do you mean? I use Weather - All Natural, but it seems to work just fine. I just need Wrye Bash because it helps with load orders.

yes for the natural weather and no to the mod loader use fomm it works better then wyre and i never heared of wyre bash as a mod oreder if you have fomm use it if not get fomm and use your mods in fomm hope this reply helps and thats all i can think of and if it doesnt work you might have to delete every mod you have and uninstall the game and then reinstall again and then get the neccicary things you need to run obliv and then get fomm obse and wyre bash and thats all i can say to you and delete your ini file so you can have a fresh ini and now i hope this info helps

with much luck

I appreciate your help, but the problem was that Wrye Bash didn't run.

There is a known error with the Wrye Python installer in that it includes the wxPython installer, but does not actually call it. Find the temp directory where you told Wrye Python to extract its files, and execute the wxPython installer yourself.

EDIT: Also, assuming that you downloaded the latest versions of the files, you have c:\python26 now ... not c:\python25 - I don't think the instructions were updated when python was.

Actually if you're running on Vista/Win7 then you just need to go to your Python install directory, right-click on pythonw.exe, click the "Compatibility" tab, and check "Run this program as an administrator." This way you can launch again using Wrye Bash Launcher.py.
