Need help with my mods please

Hey guys, I don't think I've posted on here before, but I haven't played FO3 for a while now because I couldn't figure out this problem, and I figure maybe someone here might have the answer to my problems. The specific problem is that after about 10 or 20 minutes worth of play it freezes up on me. I've tried at least 20 different load orders now, nothing works, but this is the load order I ended up with in the end, it's probably one of the better load orders I came up with, but it still doesn't work:

I don't think it's MMM, WMK, or EVE. I don't really know much about the problem, so I'm thinking maybe there's a way for me to get more specific details about the problem, because I really want to use most of these mods, and I don't really have the time to uninstall them all and install a few at a time until I find what is causing the problem because I'd have to play the game for at least 10 or 20 minutes each time before the crash would occur. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So, is the game freezing or crashing?

Freezing is a common problem when running FO3 with a quad-core computer. Using the following fallout.ini settings generally fixes the problem:

bUseThreadedAI=1

iNumHWThreads=2

Crashing can be caused by a variety of things. Bad data files or load order can cause crashing, as well as running out of RAM. Automatic sorting is usually ok for load order, except for the mods it doesnt recognize. I see that you have a patch at the end to resolve conflicts. That should help with preventing problems as long as its done correctly. I personally recommend http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11336 for dealing with merging stuff and resolving conflicts. With a 64-bit OS, the large address aware patch can help with RAM-related crashes. It can be done on a 32-bit OS as well, but some other adjusting will be needed.

Ok, I could only find bUseThreadedAI in my ini file, maybe you spelt iNumHWThreads wrong or something? BTW, I assume I should be editing Fallout_default.ini, is that correct? I tried it after changing just bUseThreadedAI to 2 but it still froze up on me, the music was still going though.

The file you should be editing is "fallout.ini", located under <User>\Documents\My Games\Fallout3.

bUseThreadedAI is a boolean, so "2" would be an invalid value. You have to add the line iNumHWThreads=2 yourself, as its not present in the ini by default. Just press enter and add it right under bUseThreadedAI=1.

So, when done it should look like:

<other stuff>

bUseThreadedAI=1

iNumHWThreads=2

<other stuff>

Ok, I tried your suggestions but that still didn't work, so I spent some time disabling and re-enabling some mods. I seem to have narrowed it down to either the sneak bonus during storms module or the radioactive rain and snow module that comes Enhanced Weather. Thanks anyway for the help, and is it better I leave the INI as it is, or change it back?

Im not aware of any mods that cause freezes rather than straight CTDs, but keeping the ini settings should be better than not using them (unless you did them wrong, of course). Without the ini edits, I was getting rampant freezing even on an unmodded game. Did you edit the right file and put the edits in the right place (theyre under "General")?

I am really not sure what fallout_default.ini in the install folder does, so I would suggest you change that one back. Only make edits to fallout.ini in the My Games area.

Well, I think it's maybe got more to do with a combination of mods. One of those two I noted, and another one which I can't be bothered pin pointing. It did seem to come good after disabling those two, however now I'm having some problems with missing textures at a certain area causing crashing, but I think I know how to fix it. As for the fallout_default.ini, I did change that back after you specified I was editing the wrong file. I'm pretty sure this is mod related though, because my game runs fine in vanilla mode.
