soleguardian
Hi! I was wondering if it would be possible to add resources to the original oblivion.esm in the construction set and save it so whenever you make a new mod the resources are already put into the cs and ready to use. This would be great because i personally find that adding th eresources to the cs is a pain and that would be simpler. and if not would it work if i made another esp that had all the resource files on there? please help. Another quick question. when releaseing a mod that has modders resources used in it do downlaoders need to have the resource files or how does that work? Argomirr
Short answer: no. You can, however, add all the resources to an .esp, and then convert it to an .esm using TES4Gecko. You can then set it as a master for your new .esp's (by just loading it along with Oblivion.esm in the CS).

Yes, you can create separate esp with resources, just don't mark it as active when loading CS (mark that way your mod's .esp). Theoretically it should work - only theoretically because I have no Oblivion neither CS on this computer. Why original Oblivion.esm? Best way is to create separate esm file, I suggest you should create esp and fill it with resources, then use esp/esm converter and convert it to esm (use Tes4 Plugin Utility) If your mod uses resources, better pack'em with esp, readme and other stuff (don't forget to credit authors, though). The best choise is TES4FILESIt will automatically pack all files that your mod uses.

bben46
Not a good idea to modify the original Oblivion.esm If you ever have to reinstall, all changes will be lost. If there is ever another patch, all changes will be lost and will have to be redone from scratch
