evans3rd
Thanks for the speedy reply RustyBladeKudos Did you load a saved game to test. I was able to use the Thrall when I loaded a save from before I loaded patch 1.04 but I'm not able to create a new character with any of the three mods I mentioned since then. I have check marks next each of these mods in both the mod manager and the in game download content\ installed content tab. I was under the impression that no check mark meant disable. That is definitely true for the in game download content manager. I found a dragon age folder under application data so I uninstalled everything again and deleted that folder. I just finished reinstalling the minimum. I did not even login this time and it still won't work. Just to make sure I have done everything correctly I took a look at the install directions for Thralls of the Archdeamon and this time I used the updater to install them but still no good. I think I will try creating a new user login for vista and try installing yet again. Thanks, Evans3rd
RustyBlade
Did you load a saved game to test. Yes I did and it placed it in my inventory. When starting a new game, 1.03 or 1.04, you need to disable/uncheck all your mods that add to inventory. Once your character has loaded you can save, exit and enable/check them again. They should then appear in inventory. Supposedly 1.04 was going to address that but if neither of you have done this, give it a shot as just because they say it's so, doesn't make it so. I can confirm that if you don't follow that procedure, even with 1.04, things may not appear on new characters. Thanks for the kudos guys
evans3rd
Thanks RustyBlade That works! I still have to get to camp to test the gryphon mod but I now have my two robes. That is so simple that I'm surprised I did not think of it myself or that I haven't read it anywhere. Now I can try a mage at a higher level and look good doing it. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You rock! Evans3rd
killbabykill
rusty, you are the most awesome person. i did *not* know that as of 1.03 all item mods had to be disabled before starting a new character. i had stopped playing for a while after patch 1.02a because the game was so buggy and laggy for me. even when 1.03 came out, i never applied it, thinking it wouldn't fix much anyhow--and being overly cautious where patches are concerned. anyhow, i unchecked all my mods in modmanager, fired up a new char, saved my game, reticked all the boxes, and presto! i have moddage! i feel like such an ass for not knowing this. i feel like it should be stickied somewhere for those among us who've gone away from the game for a while. just post a big, annoying, blinking banner at the top of every page or something. anyhow, if i could give you fifty kudos i would. my game works again! thank you!
