level-matched item quality

Spent a bit of time rooting around looking for this but no luck so perhaps someone shares my frustration and would make this or point me in the right direction...

 

I hate that item quality depends on your level when you enter the area in which that item is found. Totally immersion breaking waiting to enter an area until late in the game because you know a weapon you want is there and you want it to spawn at its highest quality (let's ignore the OCD inherent in that, not the issue =). Is there a mod that either generates all weapons and armor at the highest quality, or, and preferably, just increases the quality of the item incrementally to match your character level?

some of the items will already "level up" if you sell them to a vendor and buy them back. tho not all of them. it just depends on if they are set to have a material progression property in their .uti file.

 

to make a mod that would allow an item to level up along with the character would be difficult. The game itself is a poor engine. It will not automatically update an item that has already been spawned. The only method is to either delete said weapon (by dropping it to the ground) and then respawning the item via script. or by selling it off, then buying it back. These are the only methods the game has to revamp an item's stats.

jeffotron have you tried The Upgrade Wand? You equip yourself or a party member with the item you want changed, use the focus to set the level and use the wand to zap it to the level you picked.

Jeff- sorry about that! I havent used that mod, as I use the winter forge to accomplish much the same thing. But Rusty stepped in, and got you taken care of, so its alll good. But yeah... sorry that I forgot about that mod :-/
