predcon
When I tried setting the time on the PipBoy clock, I noticed that the middle button wasn't functioning properly (i.e. not at all), so I couldn't really set the time. I took the thing apart, and saw two problems glaring right back at me. First of all, whoever assembled the damn thing used hot glue to connect the wiring from the buttons to the circuit board. Second, the middle wire wasn't making a connection with the board, and that's why the button wouldn't function (hot glue isn't conductive, after all). After a couple years of procrastinating, I'm finally getting around to repairing the thing myself, since I never got around to filling out and sending in the Warranty card, which, given present-day warranties, probably wouldn't have covered this anyhow. I'll be using an X-Acto knife to remove the hot glue, and will be using Anders Wire Glue (available at Think Geek) to reconnect the wire to the board. Anyway, how many of the rest of you got malfunctioning PipBoy clocks in your Survival Editions?
