tutorial request: changing scale and position of a hat with Nifscope

Hi,

I just tried to get the hang of Nifscope. Well it didn't go so well.

I want to change a hat so that it's no longer clipping with the Hair. Why? I have a favourite hairstyle from a mod an a favourite hat...

Well, I think it must be easy, but I just can t get it right. The thing is, that the hat should just be scaled a little bit lager and a tiny bit more up the z-axis.

Could someone please provide a tutorial or something? I just can't find one about what I want to do.

Thanks :-)

Open the hat in nifskope

Open the main tree, and find the NiTriStrips master entry for the mesh (selecting it will highlight all the triangles in the viewport). Right click it and choose transform, select edit. You can can then move it, scale it and rotate it.

When you are done, select from the menu Spells > Batch > Update all tangent spaces just to be safe (I think). Then save it and test it, it's a good idea to keep a backup of the mesh.

Thanks, works great. :-) Next thing I will try is to combin the bandana with the desporado cowboyhat. Because it looking quite cool to have that bandana on your hat. Not the red texture though. I have to find out wehre the brown / grey one is my game is currently using. It from a texture pack, I guess.

If I find the time to do so, that is. :-) Ok going oftopic again. So thanks again.
