YeOldeDirtyPirate
This really isn't a problem, but whenever I close out of my game, a little box appears that says "Oblivion has stopped working" and it won't go away until I click on the "Close program" button. Problem is, is that my mouse cursor does not appear until I click that button. So I have to control-alt-delete, bring up the task manager, then click on it. It really isn't a problem, but it really is starting to annoy me, because it takes a couple minutes each time. Is there some way to fix this? Also, I have the steam GOTY edition, but I doubt that's the problem.
shaklee1
I had this exact same problem with my game. Like you, I have the Steam GOTY version but I was able to fix the problem by downloading Fast Exit. Found here... http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22410 ... it's an OBSE Plug-In that makes Oblivion quit immediately and without errors. I can no longer play without it and highly recommend it. Just make an OBSE folder in your data folder and a plugins folder inside your OBSE folder (if you haven't already) and extract the .dll file to your plugins folder. YeOldeDirtyPirate
I thought OBSE was incompatible with Steam, all I have to do is add an OBSE folder? Interesting. Thanks for the help.

OBSE is fully compatible with the Steam version of Oblivion, I have it myself and it works flawlessly. The readme in the download contains very good instructions on how to install OBSE for both the Steam version and the retail version, so you should be fine. :) And - better yet - no more crashing. YeOldeDirtyPirate
Once again, thanks. I have OBSE on my game now and the game closes really fast now. You've earned my kudos.
