Talent Upkeep

As you all know sustainable talents have an upkeep.

 

I just want to request someone with the modding skills to alter them and reduce them drastically or remove them completely, because honestly... Things like precise striking, auras and certain 'postures' like dual striking are just pretty much normal actions, it doesn't really take intense stamina upkeep to keep up with these talents and/or abilities.

Although I think enchant weapon with frost or fire damage should require upkeep but they should really be reduced as well, its just maintaining fire or ice on the weapon, the others are doing the real swinging and such.

 

I wouldn't really see this as a cheat, since half the time stamina of the warriors are usually eaten up so fast, rogues are pretty much the same and mages can deplete their mana pool in a mere 10 seconds if they were to shoot just 2-3 high leveled spells. This really makes warriors and rogues useless if you focused on learning alot of target/aoe/activated talents. For a mage they have quite a large pool and lyrium potions, but theres really no stamina potion and I find my warriors just depending on tank and whack all the time.

that's the whole point, if they didn't use stamina they would be passive abilities. the game does need more passive abilities but the big problem with sustains is not the upkeep but the increase to fatigue. the more sustained abilities you have turned on the more it costs to activate other abilities by a percentage, this means if you have 6 sustains on, they take half your stamina and massive armor on one shield bash will probably eat the rest of your stamina. this would be a huge cheat and would completely break gameplay altogether. up your willpower or wear lighter armor. but honestly i rarely use more than 3 sustained abilities on any character at a time because there is no point, a balanced character with a balanced party should be able to go through the game no problem.

 

p.s. maintaining sustained spells like fire on a weapon requires constant focus, one slip and boom you're a friend killing abomination! and the fact that you think getting hit by a mac truck and never getting knocked off your feet (as with shield wall) is "pretty much normal actions" disturbs me.

@Solraven; While I ageee your overall "that's by design" response, this IS the "Mod Request" Forum.

The OP was just requesting a mod s/he'd like to see... :thumbsup:

While it isn't the exact fix you requested, it does give you a way to address the issue in-game the way DA:A does.
