Letting hair down

I have no modding skills what-so-ever, but would love to have a mod (if at all possible) that allows a main character that has her hair up (let's say in a bun or ponytail), to let her hair down while in camp. Mostly looking for something a little more romantic when in a romance with someone. For example, when Alistair discusses sleeping with the main character (if female), right after he kisses her, it would be nice if there was a mod that allowed the character to let her hair down. It seems to me so rigid when you are in a romantic scene and your hair is up in a bun or ponytail. I don't know, is it even possible to make a mod like this?

You can have it up, or you can have it down (hair mods required.) You can't have it both ways as once the hairstyle is set, it is a done deal.

Unless of course you set yourself up with two sets of faces and use the DragonAge Face Replacer to change the look. You would save, exit, change face, do your camp thing, save, exit and change back. Seems like an awful lot of effort though.

Kinda depends, actually. If somebody were to create a set of helmets, based off of different hairstyles. Essentially wigs. Wear one helmet during such and such time and take it off when you get to camp, or vice versa.

I've often wanted to do something very similar with regards to armor. This is an absolutely brilliant post about dealing with armor and whatnot in DAO fiction, and basically the consensus is that once the party makes camp for the evening, the armor would need to be removed and painstakingly cleaned and cared for.

I've wished for a while that there would be a mod that would swap out equipped gear for some basic common clothing when the transition is made to camp, and then put the gear back on when the party leaves camp and heads to wherever.

Yes, it would be nice if we could have the opertunity to se how do our companions like each other, for example if all of us gatherd around the fire, let Leliana sing something and than talk all together - it would bring more life in the game. But now about hair, it is bad that you cant have longer hair with feemale character, I know it is bad in battle situation but you have a helmet for that, still it would be nice to se some new hairstiles that make female characters more womanly - man hairstiles miss cooler hairstiles they are either too long or too big (if you have short haircut but too much hair)

This is pretty much what the Party Banter does, just that it a) happens "on the road", so to speak, and b) it only occurs between two characters who are currently "in" the Party, so you have to keep swapping your Party members around as you go over (and over, and over... ;) ) the same areas to hear all of what they have to say.) I must admit, the more I do it the funnier it can get. Leli giving Zev more than he can handle, for example!

You've seen all the additional hairstyle mods out there, right? There are some extremely long tresses (female and male) available.

Example:

But I guess the OP is looking for a way to vary between "hair up", and "hair down".

I think the "wig-helmet" idea is probably do-able, but getting it to trigger in the appropriate manner is harder. Hmmmm... Sort of a reverse "No Helm" mod, where a "hair-down" style wig (a sort of "Helmet-2") is worn all the time EXCEPT combat, when the selected helmet (default Helmet-1) would be "re-equipped". Doesn't quite match the "hair down in Camp" idea, but close. And we already know that there is a binary "in/out of combat flag" for the environment that is readable by mods.

"Camp", on the other hand, is a much less definite concept. There are a number of cutscenes and conversations that are triggered by being in, or returning to, "Camp". (Think" "Dreams of DS/Archdemon.) Mods that change character appearances are much harder to implement correctly when the Camp location is part of the consideration for when they should-or-should-not be active.

This all looks like emo somehow - I ment if you could have standard hair but little longer like in that comic Nara the Gray Warden, I dont need hair that falls to the elbow, something like todays lenght that girls nowdays wear, something that falls to the sholder or maybe little longer just for better effect. I saw on YouTube hairstiles that you presented here but they are somehow to long and big it is somehow unnatural. So I hope they will fix that in DA2

I just grabbed the first "More Hairstyles" result from the Nexus Files section, and the first image (from the dozens associated with just that mod) that showed a variety of longer hair.

Look at "Don't Worry - Be Hairy", or "Beautiful People Hair REN", or... or... or... One of my favourites is "Tucked Hair", which makes just the change it says it does to some of the longer "standard" styles.

There are a bizillion hair mods out there. Most of which have multiple styles within them. When one isn't able/willing to do the work oneself (and I'm not!) one has to be willing to put in the time to find where someone else has.
