psufanksg
I recently came across the Unique Landscapes project for Oblivion, and decided that they looked amazing, so I downloaded them all. Sadly, at most of the Unique Landscapes places, like where The Dark Forest is supposed to be and where Beaches of Cyrodiil is supposed to be, I have giant yellow squares with purple exclamation points on them. I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell me how I can fix this. Thanks!
David Brasher
It sounds like you didn't install the meshes or didn't install them in the right place. It is a very common problem when people are learning to install mods. You open up two windows in File Manager. Open Oblivion\Data\ in one. Open the compressed downloaded UL mod in the other. Look at all the meshes and textures in the UL mod. Look in the other window that is next to it and make sure the directory structure is exactly the same and that all of the files from the UL mod ended up exactly where they go in your game directories. I'm so sorry if this sounds utterly stupid, but... Where do I find the compressed downloaded UL mod?

Those files are what he is referring to.
psufanksg
You know, I figured that's what he was talking about. What I did was extract them from WinZip to my Downloads folder, then I clicked and dragged the .esp file for each mod into my Oblivion Data folder. Was I not supposed to? David Brasher
You did correctly with dragging the .esp files to the proper places. To take it one step further, you just need to drag all the meshes, textures, sounds, and other needed files to the same place. The computer may then ask you if you want to merge folders such as "textures" with "textures." The answer is yes. Your new textures will come to rest alongside your old textures and both will be usable. Readme files and other documents don't need to go anywhere in particular. You can read them and delete them. If you save the compressed file that you downloaded, you can always refer back to it to read the readme or reinstall damaged files.
psufanksg
Thank you so much, David! They all work now! Also, just a comment, you have a lot of cool mods. I'm going to download a couple of them. I just have to make sure I do it right this time! Thanks again! :)
