AlexxEG
I found a working alternative for Alt + Tab on my computer, which is tab Left Shift three times. (It activates "Slow .....", I don't know the exact name, as my computer is on Norwegian) Note that this was done on a decend gaming computer with Windows Vista. I don't know what happens on better/worse computers with diffrent OS. Also I only tried in Moira's shop. Also, please don't complain to me about it not working, I only tried to give a advice. If it don't work, move on^^ EDIT: Ohh... and this just minimize the game, so you can do other stuff.

Usually this means pressing Escape once to get to the menu or opening the PipBoy, but it also works when the in-game console is open. It happens rarely, but I guess control of the mouse pointer doesn't always get released. When that happens, you can Alt+Tab into other windows and navigate with the keyboard, but the mouse will be unusable outside of Fallout 3 until you close the game. ultskeletor
My problem always was that I couldn't OPEN the game after Alt+Tab I always run games windowed to cut down on unrecoverable crashes. Try windowed mode. There's a batch file floating around that will center your Fallout 3 properly so that you won't see the window borders, if that's an issue for you.
