Dolo420
I'm Looking for a new Laptop. I would really enjoy playing Fallout 3 and New Vega on ultra high settings with quite a few mods installed, as well as being able to use the geck for level building. But I need it to be mobile and I fear that a lan party rig would get banged up in my constant commuting as well would weigh alot to lug around so I'm trying to find a laptop that would suite my needs. I figured since these forums are filled with folks that play fallout 3 and mod or have mods installed this be the best place to ask.
Erik005
Please give us a budget first. Laptops that can play new games like new vegas are very expensive though. Generally a core i5 dualcore or the i7 820QM and an ATI 5870 would play new vegas on the highest settings. A desktop would be the better choice as it is much less expensive. Dolo420
Under 1200 needs to be portable.I commute a lot upside is I'm normally near a plug.I figured a laptop just for the sake of carry weight. But I'd be up for some type of micro atx LAN rig I just haven't seen any small enough cases that would fit a decent bid card
Erik005
A laptop that is powerful enough to play fallout New Vegas will have a very low battery time. Most powerful laptops are desktop-replacements and are not meant to be moved around a lot.
CommanderCrazy
"A laptop that is powerful enough to play fallout New Vegas will have a very low battery time." I dont know, I have an Alienware M17X & that has fairly high battery time. It can run a game 5 hours straight if I recall.Downsides: Large, bulky & can occasionally get hot enough to hurt your legs.
