editing wmk-fook with geck

Hey all,

 

I'm trying to make a RH Ironsight- FOOK-WMK compatibility patch by changing the wmk-fook meshes to align the sights. However, when i load geck and change the load path for the meshes (i.e. make WMK load my new mesh insterad of the old) the sights line up but the weapon can't be modified, I can't even remove mod kits. when I open up GECK to see what the problem is a bunch of dialog boxes pop up saying it can't load a bunch of scripts. All I did was change the meshes, does anyone know what the problem is?

Are you loading the GECK with FOSE enabled? If not, find your fose_loader (it should be in your Fallout 3 directory) and make a copy of it (it doesn't matter where). Access the properties shortcut (right click > properties), then at the end of the target box, type "-editor" without the quotation marks. It should look like this ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\fose_loader.exe" -editor). If you're already doing that or that doesn't worry, I wish I could help!

I tried that and now I don't get errors in GECK (except when opening weapons to edit them I get errors it can't find male bodies, but I had those from the start) but now i cant apply mod kits to ANY guns except the vanilla ones. I am running and editing the FOIP FOOK2 v1.0-WMK patch. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

After editing that plugin, you should probably re-create your merged patch if you haven't already.

I have been doing that, but still the mod workbench won't work for FOOK weapons, however vanilla weapns can still be modified. Even when I don't edit the mesh filepath and just check the "don't use 1'st person ironsight animations" box and save the plugin no other weapons work.
