Override Folder

Thanks very much - I am trying to resolve the (potential) conflict.

I had heard that the game used the newer file in the override (or subfolder) if they had the same name.

Does anyone know if that's true?

PS. The file is eventmanager.ncs (same name different size) - see my other post in DAO>Modding>User Troubleshooting

The game, as with any program will use the higher ranked file. A file in the parent directory will be used before a file in a sub-folder. Unless they reside in the same folder the time stamp will have no relevance. The "Morrigan" of the matter is that there are sometimes files that have a bit of text added in the name of the main name that the game references that do the same thing and they conflict too. Welcome to the nightmare

Thanks RustyBlade

I found this when searching about priority of DAO mod folders - http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Source_directory_priorities

Looks complex but maybe of use for others.

Doesn't say how the override subfolders are parsed (assume alphabetical from your post)

PS. Still on normal difficulty ;) Not ready for nightmare ...
