Deleted1662706User
So I bought a new copy of Oblivion, seeing as my old one has broken. I got the GOTY edition, and upon installing the game, found that my last bunch of mods were still there. I deleted all the mods. I did not delete the textures/files or anything. I start Oblivion, eagerly waiting to play... Until...Horror. The loading screens are just white screens, my mouse is a white box, the title is a white box and EVERY texture in the game is bugged. Could this be due to my old mods? Here's my mod list. Currently deleting every item in my Oblivion Folder and reinstalling. Edit: Fixed. Unofficial Oblivion Patch screwed it up, lulz.
blister5
I'm not sure I follow what you're saying very well. But, It seems to me that you should uninstall, make sure everything to do with oblivion is erased from your Program files (you can still keep all your mods in a separate file for safe keeping). Then just play vanilla oblivion with no mods enabled and see how it does. Screen shots can be taken by modifying the oblivion.ini file in your my games/oblivion folder. you'll see bAllowscreenshot=0 change it to =1 and you should be able to take screen shots. Hope you've made progress.
Shadowfen
Screen shots can be taken by modifying the oblivion.ini file in your my games/oblivion folder. Another thing you might want to do is to remove the oblivion.ini file completely and then run oblivion to allow it to create a new one. Then you can modify the new one to allow screenshots as blister5 explained.
bben46
Just using the uninstall on the disk doesn't uninstall anything except the base game files - it leaves behind everything else - all old saves, all old mods, the old Oblivion.ini, anything else that was in your data folder - and worst of all, several windows registry entries that can cause problems when things are not what they expect. Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexushttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=240 It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice. Note when using the GOTY edition, it is already patched, but the patch is on the SI disk - not the Oblivion disk. So you must install both disks to be properly patched. If you want to wait a while before starting SI , or any of the DLCs, just leave them unchecked in the data list until you are ready to play them.
