Doctor Who Mod

Hey forum,

 

Me and friend of mine are attempting to create a doctor who mod based around a dalek attack on the wasteland. We actually started it before hearing about Demeggy's mod and a fair wee while before he released it. We were worried that a different Doctor Who mod of such quality would render ours obsolete but, luckily enough, we've had quite different takes on it. Anyway there's a preview/trailer up on youtube, still quite a bit of work to be done, but, despite a few frame rate issues with fraps, I think it shows quite well our general idea. Anyhoo here's a link:

 

P.S. We're also on the look out for voice actors as we'd like the quest line to be fully voiced but, since we're British, there's a limit to the amount of our friends we can use before it becomes a bit unbelieveable that everyone involved in the quest line is a European. So people with American accents, or who can do a decent one, would be great.

 

P.P.S. We haven't got a name yet, so any suggestions?

Looks interesting but I noticed it seemed to lag a bit or at least the video did. Was the video recording program causing the lag or the mod?

 

Are you making unique locations that look Doctor Who ish for the mod? I'm definitely interested but don't feel rushed by the other doctor who mod and take your time, yours is unique with the dalek invasion setting.

Lol the lag at the start is from a mod issue that's resolved now. We wanted it to look like there were tonnes of daleks around the monument and very stupidly actually put tonnes of daleks around the monument. The new plan involves sort of animated sprites, should still look good from the distance! Thanks for the encouragment :)

Looks like a good mod. I used to watch Doctor Who and the Daleks were my favourite. I can't wait for this mod to be finished...it's EXTERMINATION time!

 

I have noticed one thing though. The Dalek Humans are still using conventional SMG's. In the episode where they create the first Dalek Human in New York, the Dalek Humans use a handgun that fires the same type of ray the Daleks use.

 

Anyway, amazing looking mod. Keep it up.

 

EDIT: One more thing. Since it's an invasion, it would be good if there were two types. One that respawns the Daleks, and one that doesn't respawn them.

We're actually working on a rifle which fires a Dalek shot. Not finished yet though so couldn't include it in the trailer.

By two types what do you mean?

Well, one version of your mod should constantly respawn Daleks.

 

The second version could allow for a more "achievement" idea by allowing you to completely destroy them.

 

It's like the Super Mutants. You kill them over and over, but you don't achieve anything because you can't wipe them out once and for all.

Hmmm, well the mod's going to be quest based but if you think there's going to be people who want constantly respawning Daleks then it wouldn't be hard at all to set that up. Could even release that version of the mod, without the quest line obviously, quite soon.
